Why choose Online Lessons?

Many parents have chosen online instruction for their students because of the simple flexibility that it offers. It saves time and money on travel, and students can still learn the same information and music. I send technique and solo demonstration videos as well so they have references to refer to each week, and taking online lessons also allows students to study with a teacher that normally would not be teaching in their state or country.

FAQs

How will online lessons work?

I teach on Google Meet, and students will come prepared with exercises and music that we agree upon. I can have them send recordings ahead of time as well as play live during the lesson. I can recommend books and music, and I will be available during the week if students need to reach out with questions. I will also demonstrate during lessons and send videos demonstrating technique and particular passages of pieces they are learning.

How are lessons scheduled?

I will find a set time and day for each student every month. Each student will receive four lessons a month either for 30 or 60 minutes each lesson.

How can lessons be paid for?

I accept Venmo or PayPal. An invoice will be sent the first week of every month for a total of four lessons, to be paid upon the first lesson every month. A late payment will be charged $25.

Scholarship and Region

Because of the easy accessibility of online teaching, I often work with students in different states and will adjust my rate to charge less based on the average cost in that region. I believe great music education should be accessible to any student wishing to play and study music, and will work with parents to offer scholarship when possible.

What are your goals for students?

My first goal is to set aside my expectations and listen to find out what they are interested in learning, how they learn, and what information and support I can give them to help them with their goals. Most students have certain interests in playing a certain instrument, or certain goals like making the District or All-State band or becoming a great drum set player.
